Buddhist gig
We are playing a short set at a large Buddhist gathering on the 26th November. This is much better than playing a large set at a small Buddhist gathering I think, though It begs the question of which songs we are going to play.
As an agnostic I’m not convinced - of anything … other than love. But, as a human, Buddhists are the nicest possible bunch of people you could ever get to meet.
Ok, so admittedly, sometimes I chant Nam Myo Ho Renge Kyo. Not because I believe, but because the chanting takes me to a place that allows my mind to center itself… if that makes any kind of sense.

How’d it go? And what did you play?

Erm … generally it\’s best to ask after the gig, not before
Anyhow, thanks for the interest!
We set up with no problems, then when it came time to play all the equipment broke down. Eventually we performed Sincerity Machine and Spring of Teal - with guitar and piano, but no backing, and remarkably the audience seemed to enjoy it.

Well, my computerised calendar resembles your sound equipment. Apparantly today is Thursday - which it might be for all I know.
Those two songs go well with bare backing (as opposed to barebacking, which is completely different), probably because they were composed that way. Actually, an EP of live acoustic Kamakura could be cool - minimal production, emphasis totally on the songs themselves. Computerhead musos like yours truely don’t have that option.
So, next gig?
